As we track what we see outside our door by season, we are finding The Backyard Almanac: A 365-day guide to the plants and critters that live in your backyard, by Larry Weber, to be fun and helpful! Our enjoyment grows daily as we observe new birds coming to our feeder as well as all the awakenings of Spring around us. Yet, for those times when we need direction on what's happening at a given time of year, this is the book to get! The author makes an entry for every day of the year, revealing the pattern of the seasons and the events therein. It is a lovely journal-like bound book to read on its own, or to use as a guide to greater explorations as we walk and observe.
