Besides being a roving nature reporter, Bethany's job at Cattails is to find and identify wildflowers and other plant life in our area. She is very excited about this and we have been gathering resources to help her put names to plants and flowers. Here are a few interesting specimens we found the other day on our walk.

This is a wild strawberry plant. In the summer, if we can stand the mosquitoes, we will pick this tiny, sweet treat.

We think this soft, furry plant is called "lambs ear," but can't find it in our book. We're still looking!

This is a Wild Geranium (
Geranium Maculatum).

Hello Pam! If that Lamb's Ear looking plant is what I think it is, we saw something like that at a state park here. I googled something like "Wild Lamb's Ear" and eventually I found the correct name. The biggest difference I saw was the size, the plants at the state park were much bigger in late summer.
